IRIDESCENT IMMERSIONS

Commissioned by Manchester School of Art | Benzie Building's Vertical Gallery Courtyard | June - September 2014

Iridescent Immersions is an ephemeral architectural installation commissioned by Manchester School of Art to be constructed in their Vertical Gallery courtyard. The installation was launched to coincide with the 2014 degree show Alwaysallwaysland, and remained in situ for several following months.

An ever-changing installation reacting to wind movements and changing light qualities within the space, a sensory immersive environment was created in reaction to the harsh geometries and large block expanses within the space. Creating a surreal dream-like world , Iridescent Immersions drew people from the surrounding building and encouraged them to perceive the space differently; allowing them to interact with the work and appreciate subtle environmental changes that affected it.
