The finished and installed Iridescent Immersions installation in the Benzie Building Vertical Gallery courtyard! I'm so pleased with the final result, it took a lot of work and I came across many un-foreseen challenges, but I have learnt so much about building installation work on this scale and in particular the challenges of having work outside. I feel I can develop so much for future installations from this! But for now, I am happy and proud to have produced this work for the Art School, I never would have thought I'd be creating work on such a scale by the end of my degree!
Iridescent Immersions. An ever-changing installation reacting to wind movement and changing light qualities within the space. A sensory environment has been created, reacting to the harsh geometries and large block expanses of the surrounding space. With the intention of creating a surreal dream-like world, the installation draws people out from the buildings and encourages them to perceive the space differently; allowing them to interact with the work and appreciate the subtle environmental changes that affect it.
Below I have posted some images that have been popping up on Social Media, taken of Iridescent Immersions from both within the installation and from other spaces within the Art School. It's been interesting to see other people's takes on my work and how they have experienced it!
